This session will be delivered by Karen Booth - Safeguarding Partnerships Officer, Safer Kirklees, Detective Constable Oli Bottom & Detective Constable Eleanor Radley, Kirklees Adult Safeguarding Unit, West Yorkshire Police.
The aim of the session is to raise your awareness of Modern Slavery, including your professional responsibilities.
We will cover:
• The definition of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
• The Modern Slavery Act 2015
• Local and national statistics
• Signs and Indicators
• The different types of exploitation
• The National Referral Mechanism (NRM)
• How to report your concerns.
Throughout the session there will be opportunities for discussion, questions and looking at local and national cases.
