To enable staff from statutory and voluntary agencies to understand the impact of parental substance on the child and family.

Learning Outcomes, by the end of the course the participants will be able to:

  • Describe the potential impact and indicators of parental substance use on children of different ages
  • Develop an understanding of the term and concept of Hidden Harm, how this originated and the government response
  • Develop an understanding of when parental substance use becomes a safeguarding issues
  • Work together effectively with young people, their families and other agencies, where parents use substances, taking a strength based approach

There is no parking on site at Brian Jackson House. Delegates will need to find their own parking for the duration of the training. Moving your car during the training will not be accepted.

As a suggestion, all day paid parking is available at Huddersfield Bus Station (5 minute walk from Brian Jackson). Other parking options will need to be identified by the delegate.

Late arrival to the training will not be accepted so please research available parking and the location of Brian Jackson House prior to the day of the training.
