Target Audience:

This course is recommended for anyone who works with children, young people or their families.

As with all Advanced level courses, completion of Working Together to Safeguard Children is strongly recommended to be completed first.

Aim:

To develop practitioners safeguarding skills in core competences proven to have an impact on outcomes for children.

Learning Outcomes, by the end of the course the participants will be able to:

  • Identify communication and engagement issues in safeguarding children work with colleagues, other professionals and families and explore effective solutions to overcome these
  • Define and identify disguised compliance and strategies to successfully address this
  • Ensure that the daily lived experience of the child is always at the front of any safeguarding intervention
  • Discuss difficult and sensitive subjects with confidence
